Job description:
The Waikiki Yacht Club is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Utility Worker to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing supporting waitstaff, bartenders, and the kitchen to ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidates will possess a passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn and grow within the restaurant environment.

Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables.
  • Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables.
  • Refilling drinking glasses with water.
  • Assisting with food runner from the kitchen, delivering food orders to customers quickly and accurately.
  • Uphold sanitation and food safety principles.
  • Bus tables by removing dirty dishes, trash, and wiping tables as needed.
  • Assist setting up tables before service with appropriate utensils, napkins and decorations.
  • Handle various impromptu requests from customers.
  • Assist the bartender, as requested, to keep the bar stocked with glasses, garnishes, ice, napkins and all other necessary items before and during service hours.
  • Clean up the spills, remove glassware and organize the counter.
  • Check restrooms for restocking of toilet paper and paper towels.
  • Assist with events and event setups as needed.
  • Assist with food preparation and cooking to ensure timely service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, kitchen, and restrooms, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Provide excellent food service by taking orders, serving food, and addressing customer inquiries.
  • Support banquet operations by setting up, serving, and breaking down events as needed.
  • Handle food safely and efficiently while following proper food handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
  • Buss tables promptly to maintain a clean dining environment for guests.
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by communicating effectively with colleagues.

Qualifications:
  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
  • Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations.
  • Strong cleaning skills to maintain high standards of hygiene in all areas of the restaurant.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and hospitality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
